The following authorization is between (herein called the Family) and Joyful Learning Center Ltd.
PHOTOGRAPH PERMISSION:
I am willing to allow my child to be photographed or videotaped which may be used on the Joyful Learning Center public website, in print, electronic media and/or community newspapers for the promotion of programs and services.
Junior Fundamental Mountain Bike Course
This course/program includes scheduled cycling trips to the Bedford South Pump Track (520 Brookline Dr, Hammonds Plains). Participants will commute using their personal bicycles under the supervision of Joyful staff.
1. Equipment & Safety Requirements:
- I agree to provide a bicycle in good working condition and a properly fitted, safety-certified helmet. I understand that my child will not be allowed to participate in cycling activities without a helmet.
- Footwear Requirement: For safety reasons, participants MUST wear closed-toe athletic shoes or sneakers. Flip-flops, sandals, or any loose footwear are strictly prohibited during cycling activities. Failure to provide appropriate footwear may result in the participant being excluded from the cycling portion of the camp.
- I understand that Joyful staff are not bicycle mechanics and are not responsible for the maintenance or repair of my child's personal equipment.

- Cycling gloves – Recommended
I understand that if my child refuses to wear or does not have the required protective equipment, Joyful Learning Center may remove my child from the program for safety reasons.
2. Cycling Competency:
- I certify that my child has the necessary skills, physical stamina, and knowledge of basic road safety rules to cycle from the camp location to the destination and back.
3. Assumption of Specific Risks:
- I acknowledge that cycling on public paths/roads and participating in activities at a Pump Track involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: falls, collisions with other riders or objects, and interactions with vehicular traffic.
- I agree that Joyful is not liable for any damage to personal bicycles or robotics equipment brought by the participant, except in cases of sole negligence by the staff.
4. Out-Trip Authorization:
- I hereby give my express permission for my child to leave the Joyful premises on their bicycle, accompanied by staff, to travel to 520 Brookline Dr, Hammonds Plains, and designated cycling routes and nearby park areas as determined by Joyful staff, such as Blue Mountain trial.
- I acknowledge that bicycle riding outside the center, including travel to and from the Pump Track, involves risks such as traffic, road conditions, weather, falls, collisions, and other unforeseen circumstances.
5. Release of Liability and Waiver
- By signing this agreement, I acknowledge that I understand the risks associated with cycling activities and participation in a pump track program. I voluntarily allow my child to participate in these activities and accept the inherent risks involved.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, and discharge Joyful Learning Center, its owners, directors, employees, instructors, volunteers, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to my child's participation in the cycling program, including travel to and from the Pump Track.
- This release includes claims relating to personal injury, bodily injury, serious injury, disability, death, or damage to personal property that may result from falls, collisions, loss of control, road or path conditions, weather conditions, the actions of other participants or third parties, or other inherent and unforeseen risks associated with cycling activities.
- I understand that this waiver does not apply to injuries or losses caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Joyful or its staff, to the extent such liability cannot legally be waived.
6. Medical Emergency Authorization
- In the event of an accident, injury, illness, or other medical emergency involving my child, I authorize Joyful staff to provide or arrange for reasonable first aid and emergency medical assistance and, if necessary, to contact emergency services or arrange transportation for medical treatment.
- I understand that reasonable efforts will be made to contact me or the emergency contact provided. I accept responsibility for any medical expenses incurred on behalf of my child.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that Joyful Learning Center, its owners, employees, instructors, and volunteers will not be responsible for injuries, losses, or damages arising from risks associated with bicycle travel, particularly where my child does not follow safety instructions or does not use the required protective equipment.

Bullying
- Defined as unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time.
- Our staff will ensure a bully-free environment. Joyful Learning Center slides a zero-tolerance policy for any and all forms of bullying. This also extends to any cyber-bullying that is brought to the attention of staff.
- The parents of students who are engaging in bullying will be informed. In extreme situations, the staff may make arrangements for the students to be sent home for that day or dismissed from the class without a refund.
Language
- Swearing and the use of distasteful words in speech or songs is unacceptable at Joyful Learning Center. The use of obscenities and swearing is not allowed by anyone visiting Joyful Learning Center.
- The parents of students repeatedly using bad language will be informed if requests for restraint are ignored. In extreme situations, the staff may make arrangements for the students to be sent home for the day or dismissed from the class without a refund.
Discipline
Procedure for Discipline:
- Staff will redirect the students to more appropriate behavior
- If inappropriate behavior continues, the students will be reminded of the rules and expectations and the students will be asked to decide on action steps to correct his/her behavior (if they cannot decide on steps on their own a staff member will assist)
- If a child's behavior still does not meet expectations, he/she will be directed to the staff.
- If inappropriate behavior continues, the parents/guardian of the students will be contacted and notified of the behavior incident. Depending on the behavior parents may be asked to pick their child up from the center. You will be asked to provide strategies for controlling the behavior.
- If strategies do not help in the matter as a final action step the students may be dismissed from the program without a refund.
- Due to the safety concern, the students who have class in Joyful Kidsland, are not permitted playing in our indoor playground
- For safe reason, we encourage you pick your kids up on time after the class. We will provide 10 minutes buffer time looking after your kids. If it's more than 10 minutes, we will charge 10CAD per 30 minutes for late pick up.

Refund policy
All the refund will be charged the Credit Card Processing Fee, if you paid via Credit Card.
All programs are eligible for a refund up to 30 days prior to the program's start date listed in the programs registration. And the Administrative fee, $100, will be charged.
All the medical related requests for refunds must be made in writing to us at: learning@joyfulkidsland.com and must be supported with proper medical documentation in 5 business days since the 1st absent class. Fees will be refunded on a prorated basis (after charging $100 Administrative fee) and only with a medical note by doctor.
In order to offering quality programs, we are monitoring the registration levels for each program. Some programs may be cancelled due to insufficient registrants. Tuition fee will be fully refunded to registrants.
Other than that our Tuition fee is non – refundable.
For those who are eligible for the refund, if you have prepaid the tuition, the total hours billed at the discounted hourly rate will be recalculated at the standard hourly rate for the refund.
If we are facing an extreme weather, we will postpone our course(s) (not suitable for After School Program) to the next class(s) date(s)

CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT
Information regarding children, parents, staff or volunteers shall be respected and handled confidentially. All information concerning children, parents, staff or volunteers shall be confidential and shall not be disclosed to or discussed with anyone other than those authorized to receive such information, unless disclosure is authorized by law. Failure to abide by this agreement could result in termination. This applies to children, parents, staff or volunteers. I confirm that I have read, understood and will, comply with the above directive on Confidentiality.
